Katiba Institute (KI) and Transform Empowerment for Action Initiative (TEAM),Media Breakfast meeting on the Recall Law Petition happening tomorrow at the Imperial Hotel Kisumu.

The recall law is provided for in article 104 of the Constitution requiring Parliament to put in place enabling provisions that will facilitate the recall of a Member of Parliament mid-term by his or her constituent. While Parliament has provided for this procedure under Section 45 (3) Elections Act of 2011, the procedures and requirements of recall set out in the Act are too complex and impractical and render this constitutional requirement ineffective.
